Artwork

Once a fragrance is chosen, it’s paired with original artwork created in the Brooklyn studio of our artist-founder, Neil Plotkin.
These studies are what wrap each candle box in translucent vellum, and every candle and diffuser includes a signed handmade print.
Editioned by Design
We release artwork and fragrance together in limited editions — finite sets that evolve over time. When an edition ends, the artwork created for it does not return.
Art in Every Box
A monotype print is gifted to every owner of a Still Life product. Each print is inked and printed by hand individually. The print a unique work – sometimes created with different inks, sometimes drawn on after the printing process and sometimes painted with watercolors.
The artwork is assigned as part of the release — customers do not choose individual pieces. But if you are interested in purchasing other images or prints in larger sizes please contact us directly at HeyGuys@TheStillLife.co
About the Artist
Neil Plotkin is a Brooklyn-based painter and draftsman whose work focuses on close looking — natural forms and everyday objects. Neil is a member of Zeuxis, a premier group of still life painters. When time permits, he conducts interviews and writes about artists from around the world.
Before committing fully to the studio, he worked at Bloomingdale’s for nearly 12 years designing hundreds of products for the home including Christmas ornaments.
Neil holds a BFA in Drawing and a BA in Art History from the University of Michigan, with additional studies at the New York Academy of Art. His work has been shown extensively in the U.S. and abroad and features in both public and private collections.
