What is the connection between these candles and art ?
The co-founder of The Still Life is a professional artist and designed the artwork on the boxes in beautiful graphite on vellum. He also gifts a unique monotype, signed by him, to each owner of a The Still Life product. He expects to curate artist collaborations as time goes by. The Still Life products and artwork will come in multiple limited editions, each one defined by the artist – so the artwork you receive is not only beautiful but collectible too.
Why is this set of products called ‘Edition 1’ ?
The Still Life products and artwork will come in multiple limited editions, each one running in sets defined by the artist – so the artwork you receive is rare and collectible. Edition 1 runs from December 2025 until early 2026.
What kind of wax do you use?
We use a creamy coconut soy beeswax blend that burns cleanly and beautifully, with no paraffin (a petrochemical), phthalates , palm-oil or parabens.
Are your products environmentally friendly ?
Yes, we strive to make our products environmentally friendly.
Our wax is made of coconut, soy, beeswax. We use no palm oil in our candles: palm oil is usually harvested from virgin forests, significantly impacting the habit of animals who live in them, pushing species like the OrangUtang close to extinction. Palm oil is used in most US-made candles, but not ours.
Our wicks are cotton.
Our fragrance oils are paraben free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, compliant with the International Fragrance Association standards.
Our diffuser oil is a sustainable, plant-based carrier made from renewable resources—we chose it because it is friendly to the environment and to the people who use our products.
Our paper elements are all FSC-certified – recycled and upcycled whenever possible.
Are your candles safe ?
Yes. We use phthalate-free fragrance oils, lead-free cotton wicks, and eco-certified materials. Always trim your wick before lighting, and never leave a burning candle unattended. Burn a candle for a maximum of 4 hours to avoid overheating. If you need longer periods of scent, consider using a diffuser which will diffuse scent constantly for 3-4 months.
Do you ship internationally?
We are set up to ship in the US. If you need to ship internationally, just get in touch at info@thestilllife.com and we’ll work something out.
What is your return policy?
If something isn’t right, please reach out within 14 days of receiving your order. We’ll make it right. But we can’t accept used candles or diffusers.
